Plugin and iFrame Search Discrpency

April 30th, 2012 by Jon Rhoads

If some of you have been experiencing search discrepancies between the iFrame and the Plugin, this should now be fixed. The issue was due to any data that contained a quotation mark would display fine in the iFrame but was not able to be searched on the plugin. This affected searches such as: pampers, pepsi, aveeno, zyrtec, huggies wipes, and enfamil to name a few.

My Coupon Database has been Acquired by OodleTech

April 25th, 2012 by Jon Rhoads

We are happy to announce that we recently signed a deal with OodleTech to have them acquire the My Coupon Database products. My Coupon Database will become a product owned and operated by OodleTech.

What?! Don’t worry, it’s a good thing!

One of the most important things to us is ensuring the outlook of the My Coupon Database product is a bright one. The team at OodleTech has been behind 100% of the development that has taken place for 2 years and are well in-tune with where the former team would like to take the product. OodleTech was responsible for the development of the new Customer Facing Website, iFrame, Matchup List Builder Plugin, Member Portal, and more. With that said, your service will remain uninterrupted and the OodleTech team is committed to continually improve upon your experience.

Why?

For many reasons, it was determined that it was best to turn the reigns over to OodleTech. With their resources and expertise in the blogging market, having worked with blogs like Money Saving Mom, Savings Lifestyle, Bargain Briana, and brands such as Escalate Network, they will be able to continue providing great improvements on the products for years to come.

Improvements Already?

There are already a number of changes that have been rolled out for the My Coupon Database products. We’ve highlighted the important ones below:

My Coupon Database Matchup List Builder Plugin is now on WordPress.org
To make installation and setup even easier than before, we have deployed the My Coupon Database Matchup List Builder Plugin to the WordPress.org repository. No longer will you need to download files and upload to update. One-click installs and one-click updates are what you’ll be able to enjoy from now on!

Newsletter - Sign up for our free newsletter!
We’ve setup a brand new newsletter to allow you to stay informed on new changes that are being made. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter so you’re always in the know!

New Support
To further enhance the customer support, we’ve added a tab on the left of MyCouponDatabase.com to allow users to submit support tickets. As time goes on, we’ll be building a comprehensive Knowledge Base from these tickets. This will allow users to receive more comprehensive, and more prompt support for their inquiries.

New Social Media Pages
To further the user engagement, we’ve launched new Facebook and Twitter pages. Please head over to Facebook and Like us, and follow @CouponDatabase on Twitter to stay up to date with what’s going on, as well as provide yourself with a way to stay in contact with us!

Questions

Questions about this acquisition are certainly welcome. Please feel free to ask via Facebook, Twitter, or Email if you have questions that weren’t address here.

Kind Regards,

The My Coupon Database Team

Payment Updates Deadline: December 16

December 11th, 2011 by MCD Team

As a final reminder, all users will be asked to select the desired package and use a credit card to have all payments processed in the new payment system by December 16.

This has been live for a week now so perhaps you have seen the message when you log into your account.  You will see the message at the top stating “You have yet to make a payment…” Click on that link, or go directly to mycoupondatabase.com/payment, to process your first payment by December 16. See the screenshot below.

If you were previously on an annual plan, you will be asked to enter your Paypal transaction ID. This can be found under your active subscriptions in Paypal. The instructions to find this are following. If for some reason you cannot locate this, please email us to assist. DO NOT skip this step or your annual plan will not be prorated accurately.

Cancel Existing MCD Subscription in Paypal

Doing this now will ensure you are not charged again and will help us administratively so we are not processing manual  refunds. To find your active subscriptions in Paypal:

  • Log into your Paypal.com account and select Profile under the top navigation bar.
  • Click on My Money on the left sidebar.
  • Click Update in the My Preapproved Payments section (last option to select).
  • Click Cancel or Cancel Automatic Billing for the subscription you wish to cancel.

Upgrade Package.

If you are not yet an iFrame or MCD List Plugin user and would like to add this service, you can use coupon code LSTSVC to receive the introductory rate which is $50 a month for 6 months during the payment process.

Note: if you signed up between August – October, you received a unique code for the remainder of your time at the discounted rate. Please use that code.

You can find a user video tutorial here on what the MCD List Plugin and Coupon Matching Tool does and the time-saving benefits you should expect.

Users who are currently under the annual payment plan who want to upgrade (i.e, Level 2 Annual) will need to select the iFrame and MCD List Plugin/Coupon Matching Tool package. You will begin payments immediately but will receive a pro-rated refund from us based on the annual plan payment expiration date.

Package Options

Again, the three packages that are available are:

  • Free
  • iFrame
  • iFrame + Plugin

As previously emailed, if you have not made these updates after December 16, your account will be deactivated. Any accounts with past due balances will also be deactivated on that date.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Welcome to the new MCD Customer Portal!

November 18th, 2011 by My Coupon Database

We do not want to delay you from you grabbing the new iFrame code for the database. This roll-out will be done in two phases.

The first phase will be to update to the new iFrame code (instructions below). The second will be processing any payments and upgrading your account for the MCD List Plugin access (more on that at the end of this email).

You can now follow the steps below to login at the Member Login and update your iFrame code!

Update to New iFrame Code

1. Reset Your Password. All users will be required to reset their password on the first login. Click on the “Forgot Password” link to request a new password. Your new password will be emailed to you for login.

2. Grab the new iFrame code. All of our settings will remain as they are so this is merely a copy/paste exercise onto your coupon database page. Click on “Get Your Code” to grab the new iframe code.

Please update your iFrame code as soon as possible. Your current iFrame code will continue to work until December 16. However, any new coupons entered in the database will NOT show up while you are using the old iFrame code. It is imperative you update as soon as possible.

** Remember, when you are adding iframe codes in WordPress, enter the code in the HTML editor and save. If you switch back to the Visual Editor, the iframe code will be deleted.**

If necessary, you can also update your profile and affiliate codes during this step as well. Once you replace the old code with the new iFrame code, you will never have to update or edit this again.

Payment Information and Package Selection

The payment process is NOW complete! We will be sending another email to all customers detailing the payment process. However, the payment process IS live so you can also follow the instructions below to proceed with making your first payment before December 16.

3. Update Payment Information and Package Selection.  All users will be asked to select the desired package by clicking on “Edit Profile” and selecting “Change my Package” to complete the payment information.

If you previously had an annual plan, we will need your transaction ID from Paypal when you established the plan. This will ensure your annual payment plan is prorated appropriately. For example, if your last payment was in April, 2011. The system will look at the transaction ID from that original Paypal transaction to calculate that no iFrame payment is due until April, 2012.

To quickly find your original transaction ID, follow the instructions below as you cancel the subscription in Paypal. The transaction ID is listed on the payment profile. If you are unsure of what that is, please contact us and we can find that information for you. Do not proceed to payment until you have that ID ready or the system will not calculate your proration accurately.

4. Cancel existing MCD subscription in Paypal.
Doing this as soon as you process your first payment in the new system to ensure you are not charged again from Paypal’s subscription system.

5. Upgrade Package. If you are not yet an iFrame or MCD List Plugin user and would like to add this service, you can use coupon code LSTSVC to receive the introductory rate which is $50 a month for 6 months during the payment process.

Please contact us if you have any questions at all about this process!
